Advocating Justice and Empowering Community Welfare Dissanayake Mudiyanselage Anuradha Lanka Pradeep Jayaratne, born on 22 of December 1985, is a distinguished Sri Lankan politician who recently served as the State Minister of Justice, Prison affairs and Constitutional Reforms from 2022 – 2024. Anuradha has dedicated himself to the public service having a strong background in the field of law Being an Attorney at Law in profession since the year 2010 equipped with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Buckingham and Masters of Laws from the University of Colombo. Apart from that he posses a Diploma in Leading Economic Growth from the University of Harvard and a Diploma in Computer Operational Systems. His journey in politics began in 2010 as the Private Secretary to his father Hon. D M Jayaratne, the former Prime Minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka . Since then, he has held various positions initially appointed as a member of the Central Provincial council being elected to the Central Provincial Council gaining the highest number of preferential votes at the provincial council election in 2013, served as the Deputy Minister of Mahaweli Development and Environment (2015.09.21 – 2018.05.01), the State Minister of Tanks, Reservoirs and irrigation development related to rural paddy fields(2020.08.12 – 2022.04.18) and as the State Minister of irrigation( 2022.04.18 – 2022.05.09). Anuradha’s commitment to justice, equality and philanthropy is unwavering, making him a beacon of hope for Sri Lanka.

Anuradha Jayaratne is also the founder and the chairman of the Computer Engineering firm initiated in 2015 where he has precisely paid all the related taxes since 2009 as a entrepreneur and as a Lawyer .

He was appointed as a member of the Central Provincial council being elected gaining the highest number of preferential votes at the provincial council election in 2013 which became his first election to contest laying a strong foundation to his political journey winning the attraction of people as a straightforward and educated statesman depicting the spirit of the youth. Hon. Anuradha Jayarathna served as the Deputy Minister of Mahaweli Development and Environment (2015.09.21 – 2018.05.01) which became his first ministerial duty which enabled him to complete a huge number of development projects.(project link)
During the period he held ministerial posts as the State Minister of Tanks, Reservoirs and irrigation development related to rural paddy fields(2020.08.12 – 2022.04.18) , The State Minister of irrigation( 2022.04.18 – 2022.05.09) and as the State Minister of Justice, Prison affairs and Constitutional Reforms from 2022 – 2024, Hon. Anuradha Jayarathna was able to become;
- The member of the parliament who was present in the house most actively to meet the quorum .
- The only member of the parliament who spoke in the house for the highest number of times representing the Kandy district.
- The only member of the parliament representing the Kandy district who engaged in highest number of parliamentary committees.
- The only member of the parliament representing the Kandy district who was able to gain highest amount of funds for the district.
- The only member of the parliament representing the Kandy district who was able to raise and allocate highest number of funds for road development projects.
- The only member of the parliament representing the Kandy district who was able to gain and allocate highest number of funds for water supply projects.
In addition, he was able to start a massive water project in Gampola, for which the land acquisition and associated paperwork have already been completed. This will make Gampola the only electoral ceat with access to a full supply of water.
